To win this election, Democrats must embrace blockchain

The Democrats have always been the party of forward-thinking and innovation. We run on a platform of aspiration and abundance, breaking down barriers and giving power to the powerless. Why then, hasn’t the party of progress embraced the democratizing and innovative promise of blockchain?

Democrats should seize the opportunity to support the technology by adding a pro-innovation, pro-crypto vice-presidential candidate to the ticket. If we don’t, we’ll risk losing ground to a Republican Party that has positioned itself as a champion of Web3 innovations. Former President Donald Trump spoke at a Bitcoin conference in recent weeks and vowed to turn America into a crypto “superpower.” Democrats need to catch up.

From FDR’s New Deal to JFK’s commitment to the Space Race, Democrats have championed technological and social progress—transformative policies that reshaped American society and our standing on the global stage. To continue this legacy, Democrats must support blockchain innovators and acknowledge the technology’s role in the pillars of its party platform: uplifting vulnerable communities, reducing reliance on legacy financial institutions, and increasing access to capital for those historically excluded from entrepreneurship and economic opportunity.
