Weeks after dismissing Homeland Security secretary Kristi Noem, President Trump has reportedly fired Attorney General Pam Bondi, according to reporting from several outlets.

Trump confirmed the news himself in a post shared to TruthSocial, calling Bondi “a Great American Patriot and a loyal friend.”

“We love Pam, and she will be transitioning to a much needed and important new job in the private sector, to be announced at a date in the near future, and our Deputy Attorney General, and a very talented and respected Legal Mind, Todd Blanche, will step in to serve as Acting Attorney General,” he said.

Thursday’s news followed days of reporting on the growing speculation that Trump was keen on firing Bondi. The New York Times reported Wednesday evening that Trump was considering getting rid of Bondi, citing four people familiar with the matter who say the president has grown frustrated with how she’s led the Justice Department, including her bungling of the government’s Jeffrey Epstein-files release and her lack of success prosecuting the president’s enemies.
