U.S. F-15 Shot Down Over Iran, One Crewmember Rescued |
An American F-15E fighter jet was shot down over southern Iran on Friday, and one of the two crewmembers has reportedly been rescued. The condition of the other crewmember is unknown, and a U.S. combat search-and-rescue operation continues. This is the first time in the five-week war that a manned U.S. warplane has been shot down by Iran. Here’s what we know.
CBS News reports that according to two U.S. officials, one crewmember was rescued by American forces. The White House says President Trump has been briefed on the situation.
