Demand for school holidays to be made shorter |
As the school half-term approaches, Ofsted's chief, Sir Martyn Oliver, has ignited debate by suggesting a re-evaluation of the lengthy summer break for students. The UK's leading educational authority highlighted that children are in school for just 190 out of 365 days a year when holidays and teacher training days are taken into account, equating to barely more than half the year at 52%.
