Coventry airport demolition plan branded a 'disgraceful waste of our heritage'

Coventry Live readers have heard that buildings at Coventry Airport are set to be demolished as a major new planning application is submitted for the site. Warwick District Council’s planning committee will review the proposal this week, which seeks approval for a battery manufacturing facility.

The reserved matters application includes demolishing existing structures and constructing a main spine road with car parking, access, and associated works.

Coventry Airport is scheduled to close next year. Outline permission for the battery gigafactory, called Greenpower Park, was granted in March 2022, and this next stage seeks approval to advance the development.
