The neatly wrapped presents have been wrestled into place under the tree. And as the credits roll on 2025, it's time to pause and ask what really counts.

Maybe - just maybe - Hollywood's been quietly hinting at the answer all year long.

Look past the stunts, the spandex and the car chases. In some of this year's biggest movies, there's a subtle subplot - a nod to showing up, helping out, sticking around.

Not the save-the-world kind. The everyday kind.

And that's exactly the sort of message worth sharing this season of giving.

Take Superman. The reboot revealed how true heroism can be defined by how we treat each other.

As director James Gunn said: "Everyone is screaming at one another. Right now, the most punk rock thing you can do is be kind, be raw, be open, look out for the person who needs looking out for."

Kindness is its own rebellion.

But this is no solo effort; it's not just superheroes landing the theme.

In F1: The Movie, being there for someone else is the real finish line. Brad Pitt's veteran racer doesn't return to Formula One chasing fame or fortune, but for a friend. And in doing so, he discovers the victory found in teamwork and lifting others up along the........
