What a difference 14 floors make.

Downstairs in the ABC's Ultimo headquarters, most reporters are hard at work. In hundreds of phone calls and interviews, they are holding politicians and corporate titans to account. They are demanding accountability and transparency. They are doing their jobs.

But high above in an adjoining office tower, ABC board members are spectacularly failing the very test their own journalists submit others in power to each day. Amid the ABC's worst week in decades, they have ignored the need for accountability and snubbed legitimate calls for transparency.
