Binge-watching videos of Black misbehavior is a viral spectator sport on the right. It's even popular among some in the 'non-left' coalition of which I'm a member. A casual glance confirms how I routinely 'call out' or critique dangerous or negative trends in my community...and elsewhere. I have no problem with those who also do so.

Where I differ from viral viewers of selective bad conduct is by highlighting quietly laudable and extraordinary conduct. I see appalling lack of balance in this coverage. If the real goal is promoting community safety and standards, good content should be shown with equal energy. Otherwise, suspicions of reinforcing deep-seated bias are well-founded.

I know more than most about serious safety threats in our urban areas. Combating it is my life's work. But that's only half of the story.

Here's some readily available positive Black community content which speaks for itself:Young boys run to pastor's house after witnessing a disturbing act. (Willie D Live, April 2nd, 2026).

Meet the young men behind the 'Quarter-zip' lifestyle movement (ABCNY7, November 25, 2025).

Heroic teenager recounts saving 3 teenage girls and police officer from drowning in sinking vehicle (MSNow, July 11th, 2022).

Hero NYPD officer who chased down bomb suspect had just one thought: 'Catch the bad guy' (CBS Evening News, March 11th, 2026)

I'm not an excuse-maker for problems in my community. In fact, I've been confronted by loud, vulgar 'urban malcontents' in-person and online over my stance for safety and standards. Unlike those I consider apologists for wrongdoing, there's no attempt here to spin negative behavior as positive. Nor do I bastardize legitimate historic challenges to justify illegitimate violent treason or betrayal of time-tested standards.

Mine is a balanced approach to Black community conduct. I highlight our good, under-publicized majority as well as a selectively over-publicized bad minority.
