Bell: Nenshi slams Kenney and gets it back

6 31 211

On Thursday, it is Jason Kenney’s turn. He’s on Nenshi’s to-do list.

Nenshi clearly has something he wants to get off his chest.

Nenshi clearly has a thing or two to say about the United Conservative leader.

The story starts Wednesday night on Facebook.

Kenney says if he becomes premier this spring he’ll pick up the phone.

He wants to know what happened to the Green Line LRT, the one planned to run from the city’s deep south to the city’s far north.

How did it shrink in half? Kenney says he supports the full-length Green Line, not just half.

In fact, in 2015, representing the Harper government, Kenney announced $1.5 billion for a full-meal-deal Green Line without making us pay a carbon tax. The city and the province pledged equal amounts.

But, for that taxpayer cash, the city will only build the LRT line from 16 Ave. N. to Shepard, the station south of Douglas Glen.

Most of the north stations and the stops from Prestwick, south to Seton are not in this Green Line phase.

Nenshi says he’s a little bit surprised by Kenney’s picking up........
