Bell: Farkas punted, Nenshi mad, city hall gong show

6 35 1748

Had to happen. Only a matter of time.

Calgary city council’s whipping boy Jeromy Farkas goes from the penalty box and closed-door floggings to being punted right out of his seat.

Out the door. Not welcome where the city council members sit. Shut the hell up. Can’t come back until he says sorry.

That’s what it sounded like city council voted for. All of them, except Farkas.

Then we hear he’s only out for the last part of Monday’s meeting. So says Nenshi.

That’s not what Farkas understands.

Either way, Farkas is not fazed. He’s unapologetic.

When city council sits Wednesday Farkas vows to be in the front row of the public seats.

In fact, he sits in the front row Monday night after he gets the boot. Can only imagine the looks on the faces of some councillors.

Shooting daggers.

He believed city council would never go so far as to throw him out.

“It’s clear I don’t subscribe to the majority school of thought,” says Farkas.

No kidding, Sherlock.

On Monday, city council members did not give themselves a 5% pay cut or a wage freeze in 2019.

Farkas heads to Facebook.

He tells Calgarians who voted what. He says........
