One of the biggest challenges facing all upper-tier councils across the country is the sustainable funding of SEND provision given the exponential rise in demand for this provision within the population, , writes Steven Broadbent leader of Buckinghamshire Council.

This applies in Buckinghamshire too where the combination of demand increases, a shortage of qualified professionals and limited capacity in the system is causing a backlog of EHCPs to build up.
