Call not to boo Smith and Warner a bit strange given Ashes history

David Warner is an amazing cricketer. The way he thinks about the game and works hard in his preparation is reflected in his record. He studies bowling and he was pretty generous with his knowledge when I played alongside him for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League this year.

The way he goes about his training and the way he approaches his game is individual to him, but it is the reason he has been so successful.

Run-ins on the pitch happen. England and Australia have a fierce rivalry. When I went to play with him in the IPL it was a case of saying to myself, 'Look, stuff happened'. You are not going to forget what was said. It is well documented that things happened between us during England's last Ashes tour, but in the IPL we were working towards a common goal so I had to put it behind me.

There are more important things in life than holding a grudge over what someone has said to you on a cricket field. I think his head space was different in the IPL after the ban. There is a reason why he is one of the best ever and part of that is having a ruthless mentality. We have seen that in Ashes matches, but in the IPL he was coming back........
