Make the most of your one-on-one with the boss

While having regular one-on-ones with your manager is common in the workplace, there's probably been a time when you've struggled to see the point of them.

But one-on-ones are a very valuable tool for you and your manager to make sure you're both on the same page, that you're on track with your goals and you're getting the support you need.

Use a one-on-one meeting to talk about anything you can't discuss in front of other people.

To make sure your one-on-ones aren't just another meeting on your calendar, it's important to
efficiently structure them so you have something to take away every time. In other words, don't go
through absolutely everything you've done since your last meeting. Instead, use the time to discuss
what kind of support you need from your manager or colleagues to be able to achieve your goals
before your next one-on-one.
