Vale Game of Thrones: The greatest show that ever was or will be

5 1 24

Next month Game of Thrones will premiere its eighth and last season, the perfect time to end the greatest TV series ever made.

The impact the show has had on popular culture cannot be understated.

The Game of Thrones final season will end at the perfect time.

In the lead-up to new seasons, global hype would reach fever pitch across new and traditional media with wild conspiracy theories and bets placed on who would die.

Sure as death and taxes, the day after a new season aired, news sites would be saturated with stories about viewing and illegal download records being smashed.

Before 2010, if you suggested someone watch a fantasy TV show about dragons and sword fights, it would have earned you an iron throne-sized royal flush.

Nowadays the weird people are the ones who haven’t watched the show.

Before a season premiere I always felt a buzz of excitement prickling in the pit of my stomach. It’s a similar to the feeling I had on Christmas eves or birthdays as a kid in the 90s, when I was certain I was getting a Nintendo 64.

From episode one the characters pulled us into their gritty world. Dirty dishes piled up and floors were left unswept as we binged our way........
