If you think the flower of Australian men's tennis are carrying on like spoilt schoolboys, enclosed are their mid-term report cards.

Young Bernard Tomic: does not play well with others.Credit:AAP

Ability: A

Achievement: E

Attitude: E

Bernard is sometimes a pleasant and polite young man. However, this has been yet another troubled term for him. There is no doubt that he has exceptional ability, but he is yet to grasp that it needs to be augmented by dedication and hard work. We continue to impress this upon him here at the academy, to no avail.

Bernard is good at theory, but severely lacking in practice. He is easily distracted by shiny play-things. He quickly becomes disillusioned. He begins assignments, but rarely completes them. Because of this, it will be difficult for him to attain a grade appropriate to his ability this year, again.

Other aspects continue to worry us. When events take a turn for the worse, he becomes surly and unmanageable. He speaks out intemperately. This is disruptive to the rest of the class, and is interfering with the progress of some. Bernard does not know when to stop. To use the colloquialism, he does not play well with others. Unless he can remedy this, he will remain a poor fit in this........
