Today I have set myself a lofty goal: to write a column on a raft of high-profile corporate successions without alluding to a certain massively popular HBO show that dramatized the treachery, tension and trauma involved in an all-or-nothing family struggle over a powerful and wealthy empire. Yes, this will be my only mention of Game of Thrones. (Did you think I meant something else?)
