CEOs experiencing burnout due to loneliness, evolving technology: expert
Burnout among executives is accelerating due to a changing working world, says Nancy MacKay, founder and chief executive officer of MacKay CEO Forums.
“The pace of change is just so fast now and the uncertainty of [artificial intelligence] opportunities and disruption and a recession and tariffs, [there’s just so much] that it’s overwhelming for people, in particular [for] people at the top.”
MacKay notes the peer component is naturally lacking for CEOs and executives, not necessarily in the social sense, but more in terms of idea sharing and guidance, which can create anxiety and loneliness.
