Canada’s green taxonomy program continues taking shape, council seeks feedback
To ensure the free flow of capital for a sustainable finance market, Canada is developing a taxonomy tool to categorize economic activities based on whether they credibly align with sustainability objectives.
The direction of capital by the sustainable finance market is one of the tools available to ensure the country meets its government mandated net-zero goal by 2050, says Marlene Puffer, chair at the Canadian Taxonomy and Transition Planning Council.
