Miracles abound with gift only a grandma could love

Iā€Šbelieve in the miracle of Christmas, the birth of the Christ Child we envision swaddled in the manger.

I believe in the miracle of Santa Claus for the children that still believe magic exists in the world.

I believe that our hearts can grow at Christmas to include complete strangers that will find miracles visited upon them.

I believe that sometimes the miracle of Christmas is that the gift we give does not detract from the earnestness of our giving.

There were not a lot of places to shop in Stuttgart when I was a child. However, this particular year, a new store had been built within bicycle range of our house. (Bicycle range meaning we did not have to cross Main Street.) In fact, Gibsons was adjacent to the bowling alley. It was practically in our backyard.

This was a boon for shopping for me and my brother Alan, as we were suddenly unsupervised shoppers.

Oh my, the breadth of items to be had simply boggled the mind.........
