One night before bed while I was in New York with my girls, I made the mistake of opening an email from a friend who closely watches education stuff in Arkansas like I do. The email included this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNW1qSlYHhc. It was a recording of a public meeting of the Arkansas State Board of Education on Dec. 11, 2025.

My friend's accompanying message:

"Make your skin crawl ... These are the newly anointed F districts in the state in front of the state board. Seven hours' worth. Skip the first 30 minutes, then watch as much as you can stomach."

I followed his directions and got through three hours before having to turn it off. I turned it off because it was 2 a.m. and I had to go to sleep or ruin the next day of my vacation. But I will watch the rest over Christmas break, because I am committed to bearing witness to the tragedy--and travesty--this meeting was--and the whole grading system is--under our current leadership.

I am in a rage. I hope everyone will follow this link and become enraged as well. There is no other appropriate response on a level of human decency,........
