Trump tariff’s hurt American consumers more than tax cuts help

Donald Trump ballyhooed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act at every opportunity. He and most other Republicans think voters will be pleasantly surprised by the larger-than-normal income-tax refunds and vote for Republican candidates in November. The Democrats are playing the hand of an "affordability crisis" as voters respond to inflation, including the recent $1.40/gallon increase in the price of gasoline since Trump's war with Iran began two months ago.

How voters weigh all of the issues other than taxes in November is not the issue. Today, the tax issue is on voters' minds. Trump hypes the tax refund and completely ignores the tax increases that are a direct result of his tariff increases.
