Suddenly, Arizona Democrats have a train wreck on their hands.
There is Gov. Katie Hobbs, urging voters to elect a legislative candidate who could be key to Democrats taking control of the Arizona House.
Campaigning with a candidate who’s involved in an ugly child custody fight.
A man who just two years ago owed thousands of dollars in back child support and who has called the mother of his child multiple expletives.
If Nicholas Gonzales truly is the candidate who Democrats are hoping can help them seize control of the state House, then I’ve got to wonder.
What the heck are you people thinking?
Gonzales is one of two Democrats running for the two House seats in the state’s most competitive district, Chandler’s District 13.
Currently, the area is represented by GOP Rep. Julie Willoughby, who was appointed last year to replace expelled Rep. Liz Harris, and Democratic Rep. Jennifer Pawlik, who is not seeking reelection.
Democrats are hoping Gonzales and Brandy Reese can grab both seats — a move that is a key part of the party’s strategy to win control of the House.
Or it........
