There’s something about college sports that makes people act like drunkards at a Bacchanalia in ancient Rome.

Somebody needs to do something before somebody gets hurt and sues a school into higher tuitions and ticket prices.

I don’t care if it’s the NCAA, university presidents or those Westboro Baptist types who scream about going to hell before the game.

(OK, maybe not the angry evangelicals. Those guys have enough to do, what with trying to scare souls into heaven with megaphones and pictures of stillborn babies.)

Last weekend, we saw:

Wildcats players, understandably, were insulted and tussled for the utensil. The visual of gigantic football players who are barely old enough to vote wrestling over the Devils’ trident looked like something Salvador Dali might have painted if he could have imagined something so ridiculous.

Punches flew. Coaches screamed. Police pepper........
