Former UA standout was a natural to speak at the DNC
Steve Kerr is a winner. That’s why he was tapped to speak on the first day of the Democratic National Convention on Monday in Chicago.
“It is so fun to be back here at the United Center,” Kerr said from the podium. “As you guys know, a lot of good stuff has happened in this building, especially in the ’90s. You young people, Google ‘Michael Jordan,’ and you can read all about it.”
Lemme save you a click. The 58-year-old Kerr won three NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls, including in 1997, when he took a pass from Jordan and hit a game-winning shot that sealed the title.
He won two more titles with the San Antonio Spurs. He’s won four championships as coach of the Golden State Warriors.
And he just helped the U.S. men’s national team to a gold medal in the Paris Olympics.
