Who could replace Mark Kelly in Senate if he becomes VP?

For the first time in a while, Arizona Democrats have a solid pool of leaders to replace U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly — if need be.

It’s not crazy to look at who they are, since Kelly could be tapped as Kamala Harris’s Democratic presidential running mate.

If that were to happen, Kelly wouldn’t have to resign during the campaign. But he would have to leave the Senate if he and Harris win.

Democrat Gov. Katie Hobbs would then make an appointment to serve the remainder of Kelly’s Senate term.

Who would Hobbs tap? She has plenty of choices.
