Democratic U.S. Rep. Ruben Gallego is poised to become the first Hispanic from Arizona to serve in the U.S. Senate.

Not bad for a kid who grew up poor, working as janitor and at a meat-packing plant to help his single mom.

You can say he’s a fighter, having graduated from Harvard University, served in Marine combat........
