Opinion: Lake unwittingly equates Gallego to Lincoln

Last week, Kari Lake said Ruben Gallego is “controlled” by cartels because Gallego’s father, who abandoned his family when Gallego was young, had a criminal drug history.

Gallego was disgusted.

But he should have … thanked her.

What Lake did — without knowing, since knowing stuff is not Lake’s strong suit — was to unintentionally equate Gallego to people like George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Charles Dickens, Winston Churchill, Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison and Ludwig von Beethoven.

Each of them in their own way had to overcome wayward parents or difficult childhoods in order to succeed. And there are others, of course, in all........
