Has Black Friday lost some of its appeal?

Judging by videos online and comments from my associates, it sure seems like it. Someone I follow on Instagram posted a video of herself arriving at a Target early last Friday morning, in the dark. No one was waiting in line to get in. Once inside, she and about five other people had the entire store to themselves.

Early last week when I asked some of my co-workers if they were excited about Black Friday, they all said no. To them, the deals and savings aren’t as good as they were in the past.

Some also said they instead were waiting for Cyber Monday, when they could shop for bargains while in the comfort of their own homes.

I had a friend who used to love Black Friday: the camping out at the stores, the maneuvering through crowds and the fist fights over items. I’m sure he misses the good old days of the event!
