The last Canadian team to win the Stanley Cup was the 1993 Montreal Canadiens. Not to jinx anything but many hockey fans believe the 31-year drought could come to an end this summer and it might just be the Winnipeg Jets to do it. Don’t believe a new Angus Reid poll that says only 4% of Canadians think the Jets are the team to end the drought. It’s certainly not going to be the Toronto Maple Leafs (21%) or the Edmonton Oilers (20%). I’m not a big hockey guy, I’m more into football, but I really like the Jets’ chances of going all the way this time. I may not feel it in my head yet, but it’s deep within my heart. And let’s face it, we know all about long stretches between cups around here. When Habs players were drinking Champagne out of Lord Stanley’s Cup all those years ago, the minimum wage was $5.15, Beanie Babies were all the rage, people were still ordering from the Sears catalogue, Cheers was ending on TV and I Will Do Anything For Love by Meatloaf was topping the music charts. It’s been way too long! Good luck, boys!! Go Jets Go!!

Resenteeism is when employees don’t work hard because they hate their jobs. It’s a new workplace trend, similar to quiet quitting. Resenteeism is when a worker offers low productivity because they’re resentful. Scientists believe bones found in Europe belonged to sea monsters. Researchers at the University of Bonn who analyzed the mysteriously large bones think they’re from underwater creatures who lived at the same time as dinosaurs. “It’s possible these animals used their snouts to ram into prey, similar to today’s orcas,” according to study co-author Marcello Perillo.

Bark Air is a new airline that allows you to travel with your dog. It’s not cheap but the company claims it’s a more fun and humane option for dogs and humans to travel together. Flights start May 23rd between New York, London and Los Angeles. One-way tickets cost up to $8,000. During the flight, your pooch will get treats and an anxiety blanket.

A new security system with a video camera that also fires paintball pellets at intruders will be launched on Kickstarter next week. PaintCam uses artificial intelligence to identify people it doesn’t know before issuing a warning and then opening fire with “ultra-high precision.” The system can ID pets but it’s unclear what happens when your pizza gets delivered.

The world’s first AI beauty pageant is set for next month. The hottest chatbot created on Fanvue will get a grand prize of $13,000. A panel of human judges will crown the sexiest pixelated pinup. Just when you thought artificial intelligence was propelling us into the future, these guys have taken us back several decades!
