Good news vs. bad news

We read or listen to the news pouring in from around the world every morning. Of course, top priority is the news about us, either good or bad.

One asks the other, "What are the main stories today?"

The latter asks, "Which one first, good news or bad news?"

Psychologically, people tend to listen to good news first so they don't feel bad from early in the morning.

Over the past week, negative news has overwhelmed positive news to prove the latest social trend.

But the news about K-pop superstars BTS was the best of the good news. The boy band conquered the Citi Field Stadium in New York City which was jam-packed with more than 40,000 fans, dubbed the "BTS Army."

Then they flew on board a private jet to the United Kingdom for their first visit and fascinated London fans at the O2 Arena in sold-out concerts Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

What impressed us the most, setting aside their tremendous success for which the Army said "they truly deserved it for all their hard work," was their efforts to let the world know of the superiority and ingenuity of Hangeul, the Korean alphabet, through their songs.

Coincidentally, Tuesday was the 572nd anniversary of the proclamation of the Korean script by King Sejong the Great (1397-1450) of the 1392-1910 Joseon Kingdom to enable Koreans of........
