Coaches must ensure foul play has no place on the football field

In an essay titled "Bunjin Igo-kai" (Writers' 'go' board game club), author Ango Sakaguchi (1906-1955) revealed some club members' unexpected coarseness as go players.

He described novelist Yasunari Kawabata (1899-1972) as "brutish and thoroughly ill-mannered." Philosopher Kiyoshi Miki (1897-1945) "played as roughly and belligerently as if he were in a wrestling match, in a manner that was totally divorced from academism."

Sakaguchi's pick of the meanest and most aggressive of all was poet Tatsuji Miyoshi (1900-1964), who was "totally bent on disabling his opponent's pieces by any means."
