LAHORE – More rains, isolated hailstorms with snowfall over the mountains are likely in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Friday night and Saturday.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a strong westerly wave is affecting most parts of Pakistan which will likely persist in upper parts till Sunday (March 03).

Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Minaal, Bhakkar, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Multan, Kot Addu, Layyah, Rajanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Khanpur, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Hafizabad, Okara, Lahore and Kasur on Friday night and Saturday. Heavy falls and hailstorms are also likely at isolated places during the period. Heavy rainfall and moderate to heavy snowfall is also likely in Murree during the period.

Heavy rain/snowfall may cause closure of roads in Murree, Galyat. Windstorm may damage lose structures like poles and solar panels. Tourists are advised to remain careful during the period.

Lahore’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 12-14 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 11-13 C on Sunday.

Meanwhile, parts of the province including Lahore received rainfall of varying intensities during the last 24 hours.

Murree remained the coldest place in the province where temperature dropped to 01 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 93 per cent.

In Lahore, minimum temperature was recorded at 13 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 80 per cent.
