ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s apex moon sighting, Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, is meeting today on Friday evening for the sighting of the moon of Rajab ul Murajab 1445.

Ruet members said Rajab moon sighting chances are little today as cloudy weather prevailed in the capital.

Rajab, the seventh month of the Islamic lunar calendar, is set to start shortly as it holds special significance for Muslims. In the month of Rajab, Muslims engage in special acts of worship, reflection, and supplication.

Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, the chairman of the Ruet body, is presiding over the zonal and district Hilal committee meeting in Kohsar building, Islamabad.

Meanwhile, zonal committees are set to convene meetings in other cities, Lahore, and Peshawar today on Friday.

Members of the religious affairs ministry, Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), the Department of Meteorology, and the Ministry of Science and Technology members are participating in the huddle.

Ministry of Religious Affairs will release a notification in keeping with the customary practice. The Ruet Committee meets on 29th day of lunar month, to sight the moon of next month.
