PESHAWAR – The Pakistan Meteorological department (PMD) has predicted partly cloudy weather with chances of scattered rains and snowfall over mountains for Khyber Paktunkhwa during the next two days.

As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.

A shallow westerly wave is likely to affect upper parts of the country.

Under these conditions, partly cloudy weather is expected across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday night, Friday and Saturday.

However, light rain with light snowfall over mountains is expected at isolated places in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Kohat, Kurrum, Khyber, Mohmand, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu and Waziristan.

Dense fog will likely persist in Charsadda, Mardan, Nowshera, Swabi, Peshawar, Laki Marwat, Bannu and surrounding areas during morning/night hours.

Peshawar’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 03-05 degrees Celsius on Friday and Saturday.

Meanwhile, cold wave and foggy conditions persisted in Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.

Freezing weather prevailed in upper districts.

Kalam remained the coldest place in the province where mercury dropped 06 C below freezing.

Minimum temperature in Peshawar was recorded at 03 C.

Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 100 per cent.

Dense fog prevailed in Charsadda, Mardan, Nowshera, Swabi, Peshawar, Laki Marwat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and surroundings which disrupted traffic on major inter and intra city roads.
