ISLAMABAD – Pakistani government has been working on policies to advance its tech sector and now the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) has agreed to build the country’s largest IT Park in the country’s federal capital Islamabad.
Following the footsteps of first-world countries, the incumbent authorities are investing in digital infrastructure to keep pace with world technology, and to be counted among the global tech industry.
The investment body picked the G-10 sector of capital for the IT park, covering extensive area of 3.3 acres.
The latest move speaks of SIFC master plan to boost Pakistan’s growing tech industry, as it has a lot to offer in innovation and advancement.
In the preliminary phase, key stakeholders like the Pakistan Software Export Board and the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication are being engaged to establish state of the art facility in the metropolis.
The collaborative depicts the government’s commitment to creating much needed environment for tech innovation and entrepreneurship, positioning Pakistan as a regional digital leader.
The planned IT Park is set to be a hub of technological advancement, featuring facilities such as research center, library, software houses, conference rooms, workspaces for freelancers and startups, and an exhibition area for showcasing IT products.
The project will be formed under public-private partnership, and holds great promise for Pakistan’s freelance economy, benefiting around six thousand freelancers with access to high-quality facilities to enhance their e-service contributions to the economy.
The construction of IT hub will be funded through collaboration with private IT giants that will lease office spaces within premises. The IT park is expected to revitalize the country’s tech ecosystem, fostering economic growth and job creation in the digital sector.
