ISLAMABAD – The pollen count continued to increase in Islamabad after a dip during the overcast and wet conditions.

On Monday, total pollen count reached 9,488 per cubic meter of air as compared with 4,419 last day.

As per the data released by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the total pollen count is 9,488 in the H-8 sector of the federal capital. Pollen concentration in G-6 was recorded at 3,389, E-8 at 3,267 and 1,849 in the F-10 sector of the federal capital.

The level is very high and as such people suffering from pollen allergy are advised to take precautionary measures, accordingly.

Islamabad’s most abundant pollen types are Paper Mulberry, Acacia, Eucalyptus, Pines, Grasses, Cannabis, Dandelion and Alternaria. Out of all these species, Paper Mulberry shares the highest pollen count with 9,393.

Pollen concentrations of other species are Cannabis 27 (moderate), Grasses 15 (moderate), Alternaria 36 (low), Pine 17 (moderate) and Acacia, Eucalyptus and Dandelion zero. The total pollen concentration is 9,488 which is very high.

Last day, pollen count of Cannabis was 34 (moderate), Grasses 12 (moderate), Alternaria 41 (low), Pine 23 (moderate) and Acacia, Eucalyptus and Dandelion zero.
