KARACHI – Rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Karachi, Hyderabad and parts of Sindh on Thursday and Friday.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave prevails over western parts of Pakistan. It will likely grip most upper/central parts of the country on Friday.

Under the influence of this weather system, hot and dry weather is expected in most districts of the province on Wednesday night. Gusty winds/windstorms are expected in upper districts.

On Thursday and Friday, partly cloudy weather is expected in most districts of the province. However, dust raising/ rain-wind/thunderstorm are expected in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, Dadu, Qamber Shahdad Kot and Jamshoro. Windstorms and lightning may affect human life, standing crops, loose structures like electric poles and solar panels. Farmers are advised to manage their crops keeping in view the weather conditions. Temperatures are likely to drop during the wet spell.

Karachi’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 36-38 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 35-37 C on Friday.

Hyderabad’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 40-42 C on Thursday and 39-41 C on Friday.

Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in the port city, Hyderabad and most districts of Sindh during the last 24 hours.

Nawabshah remained the hottest place in the province where maximum temperature was recorded at 42 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 72 per cent.

In Karachi, maximum temperature was recorded at 36 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 77 per cent.

In Hyderabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 40 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 72 per cent.
