ISLAMABAD – More rain-wind/thunderstorms with isolated hailstorms are expected in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday evening/night and Friday.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a shallow westerly wave lies over upper parts of Pakistan. It will likely persist during next 36 hours.

Under these conditions, partly cloudy weather is expected in most upper districts of the province with light to moderate rain-wind/thunderstorms and isolated hailstorm in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Buner, Malakand, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Peshawar, Khyber, Bajaur, Karam, Charsadda, Mardan, Swabi and Nowshera on Thursday evening/night.

On Friday, dry weather is expected in most districts of the province. However, light rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely at isolated places in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Manshera, Shangla, Abbotabad and Buner.

Peshawar’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 26-28 degrees Celsius on Friday and 27-29 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred at isolated places in Peshawar and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.

Dry weather prevailed elsewhere in the province. Dera Ismail Khan remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature reached 35 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 74 per cent.

In Peshawar, maximum temperature was recorded at 27 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 70 per cent.
