LAHORE – Instant messaging app WhatsApp continues to roll out new updates to improve its features, security, and user experience, and after Meta backed AI tool, the company is working on new update to let user share files without internet.

Using any social app without the internet sounds impossible until the recent update as Mark Zuckerberg-owned Meta is developing a new feature that will change the file sharing experience for the users.

Details shared by insider claimed that the social platform is working on new feature that allows users to share photos, videos, music, and documents without active internet.

Screenshots from the latest WhatsApp beta for Android reveal details about the permissions needed for this feature. As per the leaks, the phone will use Bluetooth to detect nearby devices for local file sharing, with users able to disable this feature.

The new groundbreaking feature will also require access to system files, the photo gallery, and location data, but will encrypt shared files and mask phone numbers for privacy and security of users.

The company is working on tech that was previously used by peer-to-peer file-sharing apps like ShareIT, Zapya, Xender and ShareAll.

The tech giant has however not announced an official release date, its presence in beta testing suggests it will be launched soon, potentially improving convenience and security for users worldwide.
