RCMP should not be Trudeau royalty

4 2 0

The prime minister’s controversial Christmas vacation, initially on the down low on the Aga Khan’s private Bahamian island, is under scrutiny again for the RCMP’s underreporting the true costs of his tag-along security detail.

After being pressed by the CBC to cough up the actual costs, rather than the amount the RCMP initially listed in response to a curious opposition MP, the amount tallied was $153,504, up from the $81,515 told to Parliament.

Add to that the amount spent to cover off DND, Global Affairs, and the Privy Council Office involved in the trip, and the total cost of Justin Trudeau’s holiday jaunt to Bell Island with family and select friends set taxpayers back $215,000, not the $127,187 figure Canadians were originally told was the total bill.

Trudeau’s going on a vacation is not an issue, but not being upfront about it is, which is one of the reasons he is still being investigated........
