Matthew Oarton, 37, is accused of a string of offences including robbing a woman of a mobility scooter.

Norwich Magistrates’ Court was told the woman had suffered injuries when she was held up in Norwich on February 2.

Josephine Jones, prosecuting, said it had taken place just two weeks after Oarton had been given a 26 week suspended jail sentence.

He is also accused of involvement in a violent disorder and of possession of a zombie knife at Watson Grove on March 8.

CCTV footage had shown two groups of people threatening each other with weapons, said Ms Jones.

Oarton, of no fixed abode, pleaded not guilty to affray and possessing an illegal weapon. He entered no plea to the robbery charge.

Deputy District Judge Jacqui Appleton committed his trial to be heard at Norwich Crown Court with an initial hearing on May 7.

She also sentenced him to 30 weeks in prison after he admitted a separate charge of theft from a Co-Op store on February 23.
