New Delhi: Rajasthan Royals continued their unbeaten run in the Indian Premier League 2024 after thrashing Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 6 wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Batting first, RCB rode on Virat Kohli’s 8th century in the league to reached to 183/3 in the stipulated 20 overs. Virat and skipper Faf du Plessis joined hands for a solid opening wicket partnership but after the skipper lost his wicket, RCB could not capitalise on the remarkable start provided by the duo.’

Kohli, too chased his record of 750o runs in the cash-rich league as he became the first batter to smash the record in the premier event. Du Plessis smashed 44 runs as the visitors played a flawless game of cricket in the first 13 overs. Chasing the modest total, Rajasthan Royals reached to the target with 6 wickets and 5 balls remaining. Jos Buttler smashed an unbeaten knock of 100 runs to anchor the innings of the Royals while skipper Sanju Samson played a knock of 69 to take them home.

Yuzvendra Chahal has reached the summit of the Purple Cap holder list after a good performance in the match against RCB. The RR spinner claimed 2 wickets, taking his overall tally to 8 wickets. Mohit Sharma and Mustafizur Raham remain of the second and third spot respectively while Mayank Yadav occupies the fourth position.
