Miracle in Judeostan

Important European countries, the European Union and the United Nations all did their part: They issued condemnations. The condemnations were apparently more severe than usual, even if only diplomatic ears could detect the severity. But after all, we’ve heard them issue condemnations before.

This time, they condemned the impending demolition of the Jahalin Bedouin village of Khan al-Ahmar. It will undermine the chances of peace and a two-state solution, the EU statement said.

Some people believe in miracles and think this denunciation will save the village and its ecological school from the jaws of Israel’s bulldozers. Can such a miracle happen in Judeostan in the West Bank?

The EU’s reliance on “peace” and “two states” is evidence of negligence, flaccidity or self-deception. Neither “peace” (with the Palestinians) nor “two states” are in the Israeli dictionary currently in use.
