Neil Donkin had initially been charged with attempted murder following an attack in Elizabeth Close, Hunstanton, were a man in his 40s was said to have received life-threatening injuries.

He is understood to have been stabbed in the throat in the attack which happened at about 4.45pm on August 22 last year and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn before being transferred to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge.

Donkin, of Saddlebow Road, Lynn, denied attempted murder but admitted wounding with intent as well as possession of a bladed article.

He appeared at Norwich Crown Court on Tuesday for an update on the severity of the injuries suffered by the victim.

The court heard an update was expected in the next couple of weeks.

Judge Katharine Moore listed the case for a further mention on April 30 with a possible sentence date of May 9.
