Knoops Chocolate has lodged plans with Norwich City Council to open a new store at 21 Haymarket, the former home of Harris and James.

Knoops, which serves hot chocolates, launched in 2013 and has grown rapidly over the last few years, with its closest branch currently based in Cambridge.

It has not proposed any significant alternations to the Grade II-listed building but plans to redecorate and has requested City Hall's permission to put up its own signage.

The build would stretch around 50m across which would block a number of parking spaces.

The Environmental Quality Team at Broadland District Council has provisionally objected to the plans and requested a noise impact assessment.
