The Keeping Warm This Winter sessions will allow people to have a "cuppa and a chat" as they discuss fuel poverty and learn ways to make their homes more energy efficient and how to budget during the winter months.

The sessions are at the Citizens Advice branch at St Margaret's House in Gordon Road between 10am and 2pm on Monday, December 11 and Wednesday, December 13.

Sally Blake, community engagement officer, said: "These events were inspired by National Energy Action, who share our goal of ensuring everyone gets the help they need to stay warm during the winter.

"Citizens Advice has a lot of knowledge in this area and we look forward to meeting people face to face to see what help may be available."

It is said an average household is now paying £800 more per year to heat and power their homes since the start of the energy crisis.
