Changing Trax – Electric Proms comes towards the end of this year’s bid programme, and it will certainly be worth the wait.

We spoke to Susie Murphy, Development Manager at Postive Youth Foundation (PYF), about this exciting project.

Changing Trax – Electric Proms is an event which presents 12 of Coventry ’s finest young emerging artists in an evening of unique performances.

The artists will perform their own tracks to a backdrop of a 30-piece orchestra and 200 strong youth choir, courtesy of critically acclaimed Armonico Consort.

The event, created and developed by the Positive Youth Foundation, has been four years in the making.

In 2013, we conducted a piece of research with a group of young people involved in a community music programme.

The focus group were asked ‘what would be the ultimate sign of approval your own music could receive?’

The feedback drifted between: collaborations with Jay-Z and Kanye West to record deals and music........
